First aid training is a series of lessons that educate the candidate on first aid techniques, such as how to treat heatstroke, and how to prevent an injury from getting worse until a specialist can assess it.
Whilst you might be able to give some assistance to someone who has suffered an injury, you won’t be able to provide the proper treatment. It is strongly advised that you take even a basic First Aid Awareness course to understand the fundamentals of providing treatment.
Most of our first aid training courses are split into two parts: learners will gain strong theoretical knowledge, before taking part in a practical to put their knowledge to the test. Each specific first aid course might differ.
First aid training often requires a practical element, so you need to be able to move freely whilst you apply the skills you’ve learnt. That said, you should wear comfortable clothes. There is no strict dress code for our courses unless specified.
Yes, our most popular first aid training courses contain a CPR/resuscitation element. Some will also include the use of a defibrillator/AED machine. We have used Tutor Care for the past 7 years. They offer good value for money. The trainers are knowledgeable and make the topic interesting. In some training courses you tend to drift off but this was definitely not the case. The variation between talking, watching slides and DVD's helped.
