Dental Practice CQC Registration and Training Requirements – The Training Hub
In April 2010, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) introduced a new registration system for all providers of health and social care. The new system was introduced gradually across the care sector with the aim of incorporating primary care services that provide dentistry (NHS and private sector) by April 2011. Therefore as of the 1st of April 2011, all dental practices require to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
This means that in addition to standards set by professional bodies, dental practices now need to register with the CQC and comply with the CQC’s “Essential Standards of Quality and Safety” (a set of 28 standards that outline the ideal outcome patients should experience when using a service).

Common training courses that Dental Surgeries will now require include first aid training, infection control training, fire safety training, child protection training, safeguarding of adults training (SoVA), mental capacity act and the deprivation of liberties safeguarding, moving and handling of people training and many more.
Speak to a specialist care training company that will assist you in devising a training matrix for your dental practice and ensure that you meet the CQC regulations.
