Health and safety training pays off for West Sussex nursery
A nursery in the West Sussex town of Haywards Heath is celebrating after winning a prestigious health and safety award, beating hundreds of other nurseries to the top prize.
Busy Bees nursery in Southdowns Park, Haywards Heath, was awarded the ‘Commitment to Health and Safety’ award at the company’s annual awards ceremony after demonstrating exceptional safety standards and a top level of health and safety training for staff.
Alice Vine, the manager of the winning nursery, was presented with the award by Busy Bees’ national compliance manager John Shattock. At the ceremony, she said:
“I’m very honoured to accept this award on behalf of the team here at Haywards Heath. This award recognises our hard work and commitment to keeping both our children and staff safe, something we never take for granted here at Busy Bees.”
It may have been an internal award, but the Haywards Heath branch of Busy Bees managed to beat a total of 212 other nurseries across the UK to the prize. The proud staff and management at the nursery are now planning to display the health and safety award in the foyer of their premises.
