In the first part of this guide, we learned that COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) principles relate to a law requiring employers to protect workers from exposure to hazardous substances and chemicals. We also discussed who needs COSHH training, but what will you actually learn on such a health and safety training course?
The main purpose of a CIEH Level 2 Award in the Principles of COSHH is to introduce workers to the risks of hazardous substances and how they can be managed and controlled. This training is very important, as it will prepare employees to cooperate with managers and supervisors and to contribute to the safer use and storage of hazardous substances in the workplace.
At the end of the half day training course, each employee will be able to identify hazardous substances and the inherent risks they present to human health. Workers will also be able to identify the controls in place to manage these risks, as well as how to work with these substances more safely.
