New health and safety event launches

A new national health and safety exhibition has been launched in the UK, with the aim of providing businesses with free information and guidance on everything from new policy to health and safety training.

The Health and Safety Event, an exhibition and conference programme, was launched at the NEC arena in Birmingham back in March 2013. It was held at the same time as another event, the maintenance, plant and asset management exhibition Maintec.

The idea behind holding the two events at the same time is to give annual visitors to the NEC the chance to get the advice and information they need, as well as allow Maintec visitors the opportunity to speak to experts or attend seminars which can help their own businesses improve safety standards.

Matt Benyon, the managing director of the easyFairs UK, which organises Maintec, said:

“Many of the major disciplines surrounding maintenance have a direct relationship with health and safety and indeed, we have seen a major growth in the number of exhibitors concerned with hazardous areas at this year’s event. By having Maintec take place at the same time as the inaugural Health and Safety Event gives visitors an even greater experience.”
