Sewerby Hall and Gardens celebrates food hygiene success
Staff at Sewerby Hall and Gardens are currently celebrating their success in food hygiene training after the Food Standards Agency has awarded the property’s Clock Tower Tea Rooms a top rating for food hygiene and safety.
The inspection result and rating given to businesses by the FSA reflect the standards of food hygiene found at the time, and run from one to five, with one being the lowest standard and five being the highest possible award.
The Tea Rooms at Sewerby Hall and Gardens was awarded a five rating by FSA inspectors, who found standards at the food-serving business to be of the highest quality. This should give assurance to patrons of the Tea Rooms that food hygiene standards are being maintained, as well as help the management of the business to meet their legal obligations in relation to food safety.
Commenting on the award was Kevin Oakley, who is the catering supervisor at Sewerby Hall and Gardens. He said:
“All the staff here are very proud of this achievement. It proves that the Clock Tower Tea Rooms is not only one of the most hygienic places to eat, but also one set in the most magnificent of surroundings.”
