About Personal Care
If you provide personal care to patients in a range of care settings and would like the ability to deliver quality personal care, then this is the course for you! Candidates coming from this course will understand the main principles of good care planning. Candidates will also learn the safety rules and industry-standard precautions to protect themselves and their company against legal knock-on effects.
Course Length
Our Personal Care training course is 2 hours long and completed in a half-day. Our courses are structured to allow breaks for learners to eat and rest.
Certificate Validity
The Personal Care course certificate lasts 12 months (1 year). Before expiry, you’ll need to re-enrol to receive a new certificate.
Delivery
Our most popular form of training is held in-house, where we send a trainer out to your premises for a face-to-face session (for groups of up to 12). We also run the Personal Care training course online. Ask about our webinar sessions.

Personal care relates to the physical wellbeing of the patient in a care environment. Some patients may not be able to bathe, clean or manage basic hygiene. This course discusses how to do this safely and respectfully.

What will I learn in this course?
Candidates will look at aspects of general patient hygiene as part of an ongoing care plan. They will also discuss various policies and procedures including laws relating to the duty of care and privacy.
Is Personal Care all about hygiene?
No, personal care includes; assistance with dressing, feeding, toileting and washing. It also looks at how effective emotional and psychological support is through encouragement and guidance.
