Food Awareness Level 2 FAQs

What is food safety?

Food safety relates to safe and hygienic practices when dealing with food. This includes the preparation, transport, storage, and handling of raw and cooked food.

What is the difference between Food Safety Awareness and Food Safety Level 2?

Whilst both courses focus on similar aspects, Food Safety Awareness (FSA) is mainly directed toward raising awareness of common issues surrounding food, including allergies and intolerances, temperature control, safe cleaning products, EU legislation, and legal requirements. On the other hand, Food Safety Level 2 goes more in-depth into the courses’ common areas and teaches candidates safe practices to keep workstations and tools clean; it explains the risks of germs and bacteria and more.
