Safe Handling of Medications FAQs
Why do I need this course?
This course is important for those handling medications as these can be very critical and delicate situations. The medication comes with many risks as it can be quite dangerous if administered wrong or given the wrong amounts. It can also have side effects that can be managed or avoided through proper record-keeping.
Why is record-keeping of medication administration important?
Through proper record-keeping, carers and doctors can identify if a person is having side effects to medication and will be able to correct it with medicine that can counter the previous one. Record keeping also created a log of what medication you take and when to administer the next lot safely.
How will this course help me?
By the end of the course, candidates will have the skills and the legal knowledge required to reduce accidents and deaths caused by medication errors, therefore promoting the safeguarding and well-being of individuals under their care.
Why is it necessary to have proper disposal of medications?
Proper disposal of unused medication can reduce the risks of accidental poisoning, which can lead to illness or death if products aren’t stored and/or discarded properly.
